The Promoting Early Presentation Group at KCL has a vacancy for a Post Doctoral Research Worker.

The post holder will coordinate a research project (Cancer diagnosis in the acute setting) aiming to understand the pathways to diagnosis among people diagnosed with lung and bowel cancer as an emergency across six acute hospitals within South and West London. This will inform policy to reduce the proportion of people diagnosed with lung and bowel cancer as an emergency rather than through primary care.

The post holder should have a PhD in a relevant health science field with excellent knowledge of NHS and patient pathways through the NHS including knowledge of routine data sources used in health care, e.g. Hospital Episode Statistics data, primary care data, National Cancer Intelligence Network data. The post holder should have a good understanding of policy context around early diagnosis and significant experience of quantitative study design and analysis in a relevant field The post holder should be self-motivated and pro-active with a proven ability to manage a complex workload and prioritise appropriately 

Salary range of £31,020- £37,012 per annum, plus £2,323 London allowance per annum 27 days annual leave ticket loan scheme
