Does the scheduled/unscheduled distinction actually make a difference ?
I've long stopped paying attention to it, especially as (apart from the SE) all services here are redundant and it doesn't make the slightest bit of difference to the user whether I pull a CE/WMS/BDII out.

Cheers,
Daniela

Hi Elena,

the limit to declare a scheduled downtime is 24h in all cases. 5 worknig days for long downtimes is a good practice but it doesn't change the scheduled/unscheduled definition.

I thought 24 h is for a short DT, less than 4 h. For a long DT (like a month for retiring CE or at least one week ) it should be longer. Alessandra is saying it's 48 h. I thought it should be like a week in advance.

Thanks you, Alessandra and Govind

I think 24 hours would be enough to make it scheduled DT unless if
procedure recently changed.

Hi,

can you delete the DT? If yes, do it and declare a new one 48h later. The
new one should still be scheduled because it is 48h in advance.

Hello

In fact I haven't got an advice what's a better way to delay  a declared
DT.
Your help is much appreciated.

Hi Elena,

if you are referring to the lack of CE in the SUM tests yours is listed
and is running since this afternoon.

Hello

I want to retire my gLite CE and DT should start in the midnight. I've
realised today (after John Hills' email ) that I have a problem with SAM
tests for my new CE.
So I 'd like to delay DT by 48 h to see that the problem is fixed. When
I'm trying to edit DT I'm getting a message that I should cancelled the
existing scheduled DT and declare an unscheduled DT.

Any advice on how is better to change DT in my case is greatly
appreciated.

Elena
