Dear all,

Apologies for not getting back to your posts much sooner but I have been out of the office since then, except for one day, and wanted to make sure I took some time to respond to you.

Many thanks for your feedback regarding Access to Work, all of which is greatly appreciated and I am talking to one of my senior colleagues regarding it.  As I personally do not work for Access to Work I cannot speak for them.

You have asked for some guidance for when an employee is sent in our direction for support.  In summary we are an organisation which provides support workers for disabled employees across a vast number of organisations.  Essentially when the employee has been awarded Access to Work support they can contact us to source a support worker.  This means the time consuming task of recruitment is taken away from the employee, and indeed their organisation, as we source from our own pool of workers.  Other than a few general forms that the employee has to complete stating they are happy to work with us, everything is very straight forward.  We would find the most suitable support worker, whether this be a Dyslexia Tutor or a Job Aide, and pass on the employee details for them to arrange the support.  It is then very much left to the employee and the support worker to arrange the sessions and fill out relevant timesheets using our online system.

In terms of applications we only provide human support, so we are not involved in providing equipment and the training related to this.

As for a survey I think this would be highly beneficial but we would need to get permission from Access to Work to do this and this is currently being looked in to.

I hope this information is of great use to you and other members of the forum.

If you or anyone else has any questions or any employees embarking on Access to Work support please do not hesitate to contact me and I look forward to speaking to you on the forum.

Regards,

Jennifer
