At UCL our barcodes are attached to slips of acid-free paper which are inserted into the books. Specially-housed items are double-barcoded: a duplicate barcode is attached to the container. One container may contain several items so
may bear several barcodes.
Hope this helps,
Andrew

Subject: Special books question
Afternoon all,
Just a quick question : do any of you use barcodes or RFID tags on your special collection books and if you do, how have you attached the barcodes/tags to the
items? (i.e. directly, an alternative non-permanent method, other?).
Thanks!
Andrea
