A GIS Manager required for on-going large construction projects in London

Qualifications/skills

·         Expert in the use of ESRI GIS technologies, such as ArcGIS for desktop

·         Awareness of ArcGIS Online for Organisations

·         Understanding of the benefits of Cloud GIS (Web-based) opposed to ArcGIS desktop

·         Experience of working with a GIS which is utilising data from other (non-spatial) data sources, such as SQL databases, CRM, ERP or XML feeds

·         SQL knowledge preferably in an SQL or Oracle environment

·         Experience in the successful implementation of a medium size Web GIS system

·         Previous implementation of OS MasterMap dataset in a Web GIS, OGC Web Services, and metadata standards (eg UK Gemini)

·         Experience of identifying and actively promoting new business cases

Desirable

·         Experience in the construction industry is highly desirable

·         Experience in the integration of Asset Management System and other Information Systems

Key Responsibilities

·         To act as the principal point of contact for spatial data in the company

·         To maintain the geospatial models and layers used in GIS

·         Proactively support the day to day use of GIS

·         To ensure maintenance of the GIS models for buildings, infrastructure and project areas

·         To maintain all base maps require on the GIS such as OS and aerial imagery

·         To maintain the GIS web application, including developing more layers

·         To develop GIS plans in hardcopy to display Deep Thought data to suit business requirements, as guided by IM activities

·         To have an excellent understanding of the ESRI technologies and share this knowledge where required

·         To supply plans and maps of the estate for use across the business

·         To work with the Head of Information Management and Marketing and Communication Team to create spatial / geographic information / map layers

·         To work with the Head of Information Management and Marketing and Communication Team to champion CAD/GIS/survey integration across the business,

ensuring the focused on data management remains at all stages in its lifecycle

·         To build and maintain external relationships where appropriate (with OS and Land Registry etc.)

·         To manage the GIS budget
