This from Edexcel doesn't make sense.

If you have to claim before the estimated completion date of the course then teachers will not be able to teach during June because they will have to be collating results?!?

So basically what they are saying is, send your EDI files to us, make up a fictitious date of when the students will complete, maybe 3-4 months after they really do, then you will have plenty of time to process claims to the Board.

I think they are working in close collusion with JCQ regarding their ridiculous regulations and the pigeon English used!

Hi All

I was a bit concerned when I read this regarding the 3 months to claim, so I thought I'll email EDEXCEL and ask for confirmation. Here is the reply:

Full award certification may be claimed via Edexcel Online until the estimated completion date recorded by the centre during registration.

Should the claim for full award certification not go through on Edexcel Online due to the claim being later than the estimated completion date, you will need to appeal by providing a written explanation for the lateness of the claim.

This makes me feel even worse, as we mark all our BTEC end dates as the last date of the Academic year so before the end of June!!!!

On this basis, every student will need an appeal sending in - heaven help us all!!!

Has anyone out there received their SRFs?

I am advised that we now have to claim all achievement within 3 months of the end of the programme and we haven't received the SRFs for a large group of students doing a short course we ran in September 2012.

Edexcel have been contacted and it depends who you talk to what answer you get - I am no longer surprised about this.

Actually we haven't received any SRFs at all for this year.

Thanks in anticipation of your responses ...
