I know that feeling.  I had 3 full time administrators and 1 f-t assistant up to August, now I have 2 f-t administrators, 1 f-t assistant as one was moved to the “One Stop Shop” and it feels like 200% more work to do than ever before esp with all these apprenticeships as we deliver them and also have sub contractors delivering them.  Plus we’re moving from a home-grown MIS system to Pro-Solutions next month so got the joys of all the issues that will bring too!

I just want to retire but the way things are planned with upping the retirement age I’ve got another 25 years to do!!!  Oh what I’d give for a quite life by the sea in a little tea shop…..

Would you prefer this view everyday…..                              OR                          This……

Extra staff - what is that concept? We are 20% down in the 30 months that I have been here despite taking on considerably more than was done previously ....

Hi Cath,

It was done by our Business Development Dept,  but responsibility has just moved to Exams. As with Stephen, we only collate evidence of what has been claimed in exams and evidence of prior achievement e.g. GCSEs, is dealt with by a WBL administrator. It's early days, so we're only just getting to grips with the ACE system.

Initially, I was very resistant when it was first suggested that responsibility would move to Exams.  However, as I've been allowed to recruit a new FT Exams Officer post to deal with this additional work plus the general increase in workload over the past 4 year that I've been in post, I can't complain too much.

Regards,

Hi

Do any of you claim or the apprenticeship framework certificates in the exams department, I have never been involved in this process as it has always been done by our business development department. They are now trying to make this part of our role which I am none too keen in...

Feedback from other Exams Officers would be greatly appreciated as to who does this in their college.
