TUCSON, ARIZONA

The School of Geography and Development at the University of Arizona is seeking to fill one Graduate Teaching Assistant position for the Masters of Science in Geographic Information Systems Technology (MS-GIST) program beginning August 26, 2013.  Candidates must possess a robust background in geographic information systems and have research interests related to one of the core foci of the School of Geography and Development (including Critical Human Geography, Human-Environment Relationships, Physical Geography, Regional Development, Water Resource Issues and Policy;  see: http://geography.arizona.edu/node/561).  Exceptional candidates will have experience with some of the following: remote sensing, Python, html5, JavaScript, Flex, Silverlight, open source and web GIS, ArcServer and ArcSDE, and mobile application development.  Candidates can be seeking a PhD or an MA degree.  Funding can run for the entire length of one's degree pursuit but ongoing funding will be based on an annual performance review as the MS-GIST Teaching Assistant.
