£21,961 per annum 6-month fixed-term contract

Do you have a meticulous eye for detail, enthusiasm for organising vast numbers of records, and a commitment to assisting visitors? If so, this position at the world’s largest archaeological archive may be perfect for you.

The London Archaeological Archive and Research Centre holds information on 8,500 archaeological digs that have taken place in the capital since 1830, and the complete archives (records and artefacts) from around half of those. A vacancy has arisen for an Archive Assistant, who can:

There will also be opportunities to take part in public events and help supervise volunteers, both at the Research Centre and in the Museum itself. Candidates should have some experience of filing, archiving and records management in an office or library environment. However, a meticulous eye for detail, along with tact and good humour in communicating with users, are more important than specific qualifications or knowledge of archival practice.
