Hi Everyone,

I am a PhD student within the Department of Psychology at Northumbria University currently looking for participants for a study designed to investigate the effects of the transition into and out of British Summer Time upon occupational well-being.

Anyone aged 18 or over; who is currently working, is eligible to take part.

There are 2 parts to the study. The first part will take place during the next clock change in October 2012 and the second part will take place over the clock change which will occur in March 2013. If you take part initially you will complete Part 1 and will then be invited to complete Part 2 in March 2013.

For the first part of the study you will be required to complete a 16 day sleep diary from Sunday 21st October to Monday 5th November, which takes a couple of minutes per day and 4 short online surveys, which would be emailed to you and need to be completed on the specific dates outlined below:

Survey 1: Friday 19th October 2012 (Taking approximately 15 to 20 minutes to complete)

Survey 2: Monday 22nd October 2012 (Taking approximately 5 to 10 minutes to complete)

Survey 3: Monday 29th October 2012 (Taking approximately 5 to 10 minutes to complete)

Survey 4: Monday 5th November 2012 (Taking approximately 5 to 10 minutes to complete)

In return for your time there is a prize draw for an Apple iPad 3. You will gain 1 entry for each survey you complete and 2 further entries for completing and returning the sleep diary for Part 1 of the study. Therefore, you will increase your number of entries and chances of winning with each completed survey and sleep diary.

If you are interested in taking part please reply to this email and include an address in which the sleep diary can be sent to you (either work or home, whichever is preferred).

The study has received ethical approval from The Faculty of Health and Life Sciences Ethics Committee at Northumbria University.

If you have any questions or require any further information please don't hesitate to contact me.

Please also forward this information to friends, family or colleagues that you think might also be interested in taking part.

Your help would be very much appreciated!

Thanks,
