Images of Research Photography Competition - Cast your vote now

We’ve challenged researchers at The University of Manchester to share their work with you using just a single, inspiring image and short description.  A 305 million-year-old spider, the inside of a tadpole’s head, and lightning striking the blade of a windmill are just some of the amazing images shortlisted for this year's competition.

This year’s theme is “Making a Difference”. The images demonstrate how research being carried out at The University of Manchester is affecting the wider world.

Now *you* get the chance to decide on the winning entry in our Images of Research photo competition.

The shortlisted entries are being exhibited at the John Rylands Library Deansgate (17 October – 5 November 2012).

You can also vote online at:  http://www.manchesterimagesofresearch.co.uk/

So take a look through the 15 shortlisted images and vote for your favourite image and associated description. Cast your vote and help us decide which image has captured your imagination, raised your curiosity, or got you thinking about the research in a different way.

Voting is open to all staff and students at the University and beyond - so be sure to tell your friends and family too!  Go on take a little peek and get voting! (Closes 5 November)

The Images of Research competition is part of the Manchester Science Festival, which runs from 27 October to 4 November 2012.

Best wishes, Dee-Ann
