Dear Colleagues:

You and your associates are invited to the 60th annual conference of the Western Spectroscopy Association, chaired by Benjamin Schwartz and scheduled for January 30 - February 1, 2013.  We are very excited to be celebrating the 60th year of this conference!

Registration and complete information are available at http://www.westernspectroscopy.org.

Graduate students and postdocs who are interested in applying for one of seven contributed talks or for scholarship support should apply by October 22, 2012.  Application information can be found at http://www.westernspectroscopy.org

The conference is held at the Asilomar Conference Center, which is located on the spectacular Monterey Peninsula near Asilomar State Beach, California.  There are many scenic and historic sites located nearby; guests are also invited to the social hours, meals, and banquet.  The Western Spectroscopy Association meeting was begun in 1954 by G.C. Pimentel, W. C. Merrill, J. W. Otvos, S. S. Penner, S. R. Smith, and J. C. Guffy as a regional meeting on molecular spectroscopy.  In the intervening years it has developed into a forum for researchers in all kinds of spectroscopy at small colleges, larger universities, and national laboratories across the nation.  Its informal setting is designed to encourage participation of students and postdoctoral associates, and its regional nature enhances the development of longer-term scientific cooperation.

Registration deadline is November 26, 2012.
