Job Opening

Immediate openings for faculty (Associate Professor and Research
Assistant) positions in theoretical chemistry, QIBEBT, China.

One associate professor position and two research assistant positions
are open immediately in the theory/simulation group at Qingdao
Institute of Bioenergy and Bioprocess Technology (QIBEBT), Qingdao,
China. The successful candidates will work in the subgroup of Prof.
Zhenggang Lan, which focuses on the theoretical description of
physical/chemical processes in solar energy conversions.

The potential candidates should have a Ph.D degree in Theoretical
Chemistry or Computational Physics. For associate professorship
position, postdoc experiences are necessary. The applicants should
show efficient team-work ability and good communication skill. The
candidates with experiences on (at least one of) following topics (see
below) will be highly preferable:

    * molecular excited-state dynamics
    * method and code development in ab initio or DFT theory
    * QM/MM simulations
    * electron transfer and energy transfer
    * photovoltaic or solar cell
    * photosynthesis

The successful applications may work on some of the following fields:

    * the development of theoretical approaches to describe
photoinduced excited-states processes;
    * the investigation of important phenomena in solar energy
conversions, such as photoexcitation, nonadiabatic dynamics,
photoinduced electronic transfer, energy transfer and so on.
    * the exploration of molecular devices in photovoltaics and solar
cells (cooperated with experimental groups)
    * the development of multi-scale simulation tools to understand
complex processes in renewable energy sciences.

As semi-independent positions, the successful candidates will mainly
work with Prof. Zhenggang Lan. At the same time, she/he will also be
encouraged to apply her/his own research projects.

All above open positions are fixed long-term positions. Salary and
benefit are commensurate with the policy of QIBEBT, Chinese Academy of
Sciences.
