Hello,

I just thought I would report back from the careers day! It was fabulous- the children really enjoyed it (as did I) and the anecdotes went down a storm so thank you all so much for those.

I took some anatomy books, some bones from a much dismantled skeleton and the date stamp amongst other things. We matched the bones up from the book and date stamped our birthdays onto post-it notes. I think it was very successful and I met a boy who was the school librarian – he had a much better badge than me! He would like to stay in libraries and asked me when I was going to retire- it appears I have a few years yet before he can take over ! It is good to know that I have a successor though…..

I attach a photo of the fun !

For those who sent me anecdotes- some people have asked if can share- if I remove names/details- would that be ok?

Thanks again everyone.

Leanne

PS- hope no-one minds the photo or this email- just thought it might lighten a very HDAS/gloom dominated week. And I really wanted to say THANK YOU!

Happy Friday afternoon !

I am taking part in a school careers event day and will be talking (indoctrinating?) to children about the wonders of being a health librarian.

I was wondering if anybody has any funny stories/best thing about being a health librarian or just general anecdotes about the job that might be fun to share with schoolchildren. I will of course, preserve your anonymity……..

I look forward to hearing from you.

Happy weekend.

Leanne
