Dear all Is anyone else recording good Heritage Impact Assessments as Events in their HERs? If so, what Event Type (as in the NMR Event Type Thesaurus - http://thesaurus.english-heritage.org.uk/thesaurus.asp?thes_no=566) do you categorise them as? There isn't currently a specific term for them, and the scope notes for DBA, EIA and Historic Area Assessment aren't really right for what we see coming in with planning applications. I know there is some scepticism about whether work like DBAs should be considered as Events (and not simply as Sources) but it makes sense from the point of view of data structure to record them as such. I would also argue that well researched assessments do add a lot to HERs and should be flagged up as pieces of work. Is there a need for a new thesaurus term of Heritage Impact Assessment do you think?
