The Department of Earth Sciences at Montana State University seeks a Visiting Assistant Professor in the field of mineralogy/metamorphic petrology to teach Earth System Science (introductory), Earth Materials (2nd year), Mineralogy (3rd year), and upper division Metamorphic Petrology (4th year) courses beginning January 1, 2013. The successful candidate will teach Earth Sciences majors and non-majors and advise undergraduate students in the Geology option in the Department of Earth Sciences. There are opportunities   to supervise and contribute to undergraduate and graduate research projects. This is a one year appointment for spring and fall semesters 2013. Required qualifications are a Ph.D. or ABD in geology or fields related to mineralogy and petrology.  This is a great opportunity for an early career faculty member to develop a teaching portfolio in Mineralogy and Metamorphic Petrology.  Screening for this position will begin on November 2, 2012.
