You could always search Google for “employability icon”
I did. There are lots to consider, but obviously not evaluated.
There must be one somewhere amongst them for “Give a man a fish, teach him …”

Hi Ann,
I use a butterfly which is meant to symbolise ‘taking flight’, preparing students for what happens when they move on. I evaluated it a couple of weeks ago and response was mixed. All of the students asked had
seen the butterfly, but not all of them had made the connection between it and employability. I had one member of staff tell me that they thought it was ‘cheesy’, but others seem to like it!
With best wishes,

I use a rising sun fore grounded by a winding road motif for my ‘embedding employability’ curriculum design materials. I wouldn’t necessarily recommend it as being
something that captures ‘just the right message’, but it is bright and memorable and suggests journey over skills deficit. I haven’t evaluated it.

Hi all,
On a very practical note, does anyone know of or use an ‘Icon’ to flag employability issues within courses - and how do students respond to that?
Just a question on behalf of my wider OU colleagues, you can send answers directly to my email if you don’t want to block up the network,
All the best
