Caution is the right word here alright Simon.  I can foresee all kinds of problems with this approach.  What if a convicted criminal has an identical twin brother who’s perfectly innocent.  Someone sees mugshot on police website and then goes and mistakes innocent twin for his less than innocent brother…  Lynch mob ensues against the wrong man…

I can see it now. Get your house broken into. They arrest said scroat. He gets out with a caution. One night a few of you nip round to his house and drag him to your house, where you proceed to use “reasonable force” to defend yourself against this persistent offender. He gets arrested. He gets out with a caution. One night….

Or is that going a  bit far?

Not that I am against the initiative below, particularly; but I think it needs to be implemented with an amount of, dare I say it, caution?

Members of the public will be able to enter their postcode and see a “rogues’ gallery” of local convicts who have recently been handed jail terms.

The service, called “In The Dock”, will be introduced gradually on the police.uk website from the end of this month.

 Anyone doing this locally?
