-----Original Message----- Would you mind forwarding the following information to any graduate students (masters, professional, or Ph.D. Level) in your network who might be interested in Duke's summer internship/course in Geneva, Switzerland? I'm the instructor for the "Environment, Energy, and Economics" track, and we also offer tracks in public-private partnerships, humanitarianism, and health policy. To maximize students' face-time and interaction with policy practitioners, we place students in summer internships in institutions around Geneva (e.g., WTO, UNEP, UNHCR, WHO, UNCTAD, ILO, Earthmind, IUCN, ICTSD) and we also provide an intensive 5-day course of guest speakers and site visits. Geneva is excellent for that because it is home to UN bodies, NGOs, business groups, country missions, etc. The program offers a course-only option if students do not wish to hold an internship. Outside of the course week, students gain professional experience with their internship placements and also have ample time for networking, researching, and socializing in a great spot right in the center of Europe. The application deadline is Monday, November 26. A live online chat with past participants will be held on Tuesday, October 23, at 8:00 pm EST - to sign up for the chat, students should email Lisa Kukla at [log in to unmask] See our website for more information: www.sanford.duke.edu/geneva Any questions, contact [log in to unmask] or 919.613.9289. Thanks very much, Tana Tana Johnson, Ph.D. Instructor, Duke Summer Program on Global Policy and Governance -- Geneva, Switzerland Assistant Professor of Public Policy and Political Science Duke University, Sanford School of Public Policy
