Questions
regarding the role of race in American
politics continue to abound both in
popular discourse and in scholarly
research. These questions concern matters
such as possible racial differences in
public opinion and political
participation, and the role of race in
U.S. elections. Rather than putting such
issues to rest, the election of Barack
Obama as president in 2008 returned many
of them to the fore. As the 2012 election
nears, research on these topics warrants
careful consideration.
Political
Behavior long has been a
leading outlet for innovative research on
race and politics. On the eve of the 2012
election, Springer has opted to provide
open access to recent works on race and
politics that have appeared in Political
Behavior. |
