Hi Jackie

This is something I’m concerned about, but haven’t thought about much yet in practical terms.

Just this afternoon while we have been emailing I spotted this on the AUTOCAT list from Shana McDanold.  I’ve not had time to look at the link yet though

Helen

Part of the RDA Test included analysis of the time taken for AACR2 vs. RDA in order to determine cost effectiveness of switching to RDA.

Test results are still available here:

http://www.loc.gov/bibliographic-future/rda/

Particularly in the Findings section of the Full Report there is a time analysis.

Cheers,

-Shana

Just a general question/observation. What are people’s views about the adoption of RDA impinging greatly on productivity, or am I being end of dayish negative? We’re very concerned here on how it’s going to slow us down whilst at the same time we are battling with increasing amounts of material to catalogue. Apologies if this is off topic.
