Safer to keep the number 3 as just part of the title. Even though the conference is a series, the conference publications might not always follow the same pattern in their titles and might therefore lack a consistent collective title. RDA makes clear that it is fine to leave an edition number as part of title, e.g. MGMT3, and this might be a similar case. I think I decided that by transcribing the title and then having a series/numbering statement as well, I'd covered all bases. Hadn't thought to have a 246 as well though! HelenD. The other is a question about what to do with the 3 in the title: is it part numbering, does it mean this is essentially a series or a multivol work? I've just gone for the easier option and considered it part of the title proper. -- CĂ©line Carty English Cataloguing Cambridge University Library Cambridge CB3 9DR
