Hi Deborah

If you have the budget I’d recommend a ‘drama for training’ provider. STEPS have done some sessions to address similar issues here at Nottingham recently and it seems to have been very successful.

Best

Subject: Staff attitudes to Equality

Dear colleagues,

I am observing some poor attitudes to EquaIity & Diversity in the staffroom. It’s not many people and it’s largely in one faculty and it’s out of sight of the students. I’m wondering if I can do something ‘ soft ‘ to begin with on the line of extra education before I do anything too official. I feel when I make it official I run the risk of driving these poor attitudes underground rather than changing them.

I’m wondering if anyone has some experience of this and you have any insights or tips or good ideas or training suggestions?

Best wishes

Deb
