interested in selling the following item and I
wondered if any of your members might be interested.
It is a book
called "The Story of Telford - The Rise of Civil Engineering" by Sir Alexander
Gibb GBE, CB (1st ed) Alexander Maclehose & Co. London 1935. The
book is dedicated to "Rudyard Kipling, The Poet of Empire and of
Engineering".
The author has
written "To Sir William Rothenstein, with the kind regards of the author,
Alexander Gibb. Queen Annes (sic) Lodge. (illegible word)
Oct 1935
There is a
bookplate of Sir William Rothenstein inserted.
There is also a
handwritten letter from Rudyard Kipling to the author dated December 21
1935.
