Subject: A Kipling Letter for Sale

To The Secretary of The Kipling Society

I am interested in selling the following item and I wondered if any of your members might be interested.

It is a book called "The Story of Telford - The Rise of Civil Engineering" by Sir Alexander Gibb GBE, CB (1st ed) Alexander Maclehose & Co. London 1935. The book is dedicated to "Rudyard Kipling, The Poet of Empire and of Engineering".

The author has written "To Sir William Rothenstein, with the kind regards of the author, Alexander Gibb. Queen Annes (sic) Lodge. (illegible word) Oct 1935

There is a bookplate of Sir William Rothenstein inserted.

There is also a handwritten letter from Rudyard Kipling to the author dated December 21 1935.

I look forward to receiving your reply.

With best wishes,

Patrick Kaye.
