Hi Hayley,

There is a a mailing list for the Australian Science Communicators here: http://www.asc.asn.au/mailing-lists/ and the NSW branch is probably a good place to start your enquiry. The next key event is probably Science[rewired] at the RiAus in October so that program may also give you an idea of the key players: http://sciencerewired.org/adelaide2012/

We also run a monthly Twitter chat #onsci (next one will be 13th Sept) and the Australian version of I’m a Scientist #IASAus so that’s also a good way to find people interested in science communication if you’re into Twitter.

I’m based in Adelaide, but there’s a few of us in Aust following this list, so hopefully, some of us might be some help!

Best of luck,
Kristin

Hi all.

I was wondering if anyone knows much about the sci. comm. scene in Australia or specifically Sydney? Who are the main players and what is the job market like out there for sci. comm. stuff (of any sector)? Better yet is there a list like this one out there?

Any information would be great- gently toying with the idea of moving out there after the PhD since my partner has been offered a position there.

Best

Hayley
