The Pervasive Media Studio in Bristol and the Institute of Physics Publishing are pleased to offer an open call for a Studio residency.

We are offering a new graduate, early stage researcher or startup company the opportunity to spend supported time at Pervasive Media Studio, to research a new project at the intersection of art, technology and science. This is a unique opportunity to explore process and practice within a collaborative environment.

The residency is available to candidates from varied disciplines who are looking for the time and space to research innovative ideas, develop experimental works and make new connections. The residency will support an early stage project that requires critical, and technical, investigation and discussion.

The theme of this residency is science communication. This could take the form of working with new research, or datasets from the IOPP archive, developing new ways to interpret, access or interact with scientific research, inspiring citizen science, developing educational tools, installations or experiences, or something that we haven’t thought of yet that uses creative technologies in interesting ways to expand the way in which we communicate the sciences.

The successful candidate will receive research, development and production support including a bursary of up to £3000 and the residency will last for three months, beginning in January 2013, culminating in a showcase event in April 2013.
