This was discussed a while back and I knew I had seen an article.

Here John Hamilton of Leeds Metropolitan describes how they went about it undertaking a mapping exercise using anonymised employee data from HR management system. This allowed them to plot employee density by postcode sector for our 3000 employees and map these on to the location of GP practices in those areas.
