The University of Brighton seeks to appoint an external examiner in the field of media studies, to examine media theory modules delivered at the University of Brighton in Hastings. Modules include: introduction to media studies, visual communication and culture, adaptation, media narratives, and media, space and place. These modules are part of the following courses: BA (Hons) English Literature and Media Studies, BA (Hons) Media Studies and Education, BA (Hons) Media Studies and Sociology, FdA in Broadcast Media, BA (Hons) Broadcast Media, BA (Hons) Broadcast Journalism.

 

Experience of FdA and/or joint honours teaching would be an advantage, as would previous experience of external examining. Exam boards take place in February and June, in Hastings, and the tenure begins in September 2013. Applicants should hold the post of Senior or Principal Lecturer.

MeCCSA is the subject association for the field of media, communication and cultural studies in UK Higher Education. Membership is open to all who teach and research these subjects in HE institutions, via either institutional or individual membership. The field includes film and TV production, journalism, radio, photography, creative writing, publishing, interactive media and the web; and it includes higher education for media practice as well as for media studies.
