CALL FOR PROPOSALS
The 25th International Conference on the History of Cartography
30 June - 5 July 2013, Helsinki, Finland
This conference series is dedicated to advancing knowledge of the history of maps and map making. It promotes global cooperation among cartographic scholars from any academic discipline, map curators, collectors, dealers
and institutions.
ICHC 2013 will provide a forum for paper and poster presentations, exhibitions, and the chance to meet with colleagues and friends. The presentations will address the history of cartography--i.e., the study of maps, their
making, and their use in the past--from any disciplinary perspective, such as art history, history of science, geography, literary studies, cultural history, etc.
One of the exhibitions organized in the connection of the conference will be The Widening View of the World --Treasures from the Adolf Erik Nordenskiöld map collection and Life and work of A. E. Nordenskiöld at the National Museum of Finland.
Important dates:
Submission of proposals for a paper or poster 1 November 2012
Notification of acceptance 15 January 2013
Close of early, and cheaper, registration 15 February 2013
