Dear all ,

Please see listed below visits that have been arranged by the CILIP Information Services Group (London and South East Section) - if you are interested in obtaining further information or booking a place, please contact Alan Power ([log in to unmask]<mailto:[log in to unmask]>)

St George's Chapel, Windsor Castle, Archives and Chapter Library
Tuesday October 30th, starting at 2.30pm. Book by Friday October 19th
We have arranged a group tour of this very special collection located within the precincts of Windsor Castle. A Library has been in existence here since 1348 and contains more than 6,000 rare books, while the Chapel Archives hold deeds and other material relating to properties in 30 counties throughout England and Wales. Because of its special location, certain terms and conditions have to apply:

  * You will need to book your place by Friday October 19th. We cannot accept bookings after this date.
  * We have to send names of visitors a week in advance, after which time no changes can be made. If you have to cancel after this date, we will not be able to refund your cheque.
  * There is a charge of £10 per person, payable in advance. Please send to me a cheque made out to CILIP - ISG (London & SE Section) to confirm your place. Receipts will be given on the day. Unfortunately we do not have the facility to issue invoices.
  * We need a minimum of 12 people for the tour to go ahead. If we do not reach this number, we will have to cancel the tour and cheques will be returned.
  * Photographic id will be needed on the day for entry (eg passport or driving licence photocard)

Apologies for these complexities, but we have to adhere to them. Please make sure that you have read these terms and conditions before applying. You are very welcome to phone or email a provisional booking, but we will need a firm booking by October 19th.

The London Library
Monday November 12th, starting at 6pm
Founded in 1841 by Thomas Carlyle, the London Library is the country's leading literary institution and now holds more than 1M volumes. It is a subscription library with membership open to all. The Library is part-way through an exciting redevelopment project, which we should hear about. Please note the starting time. The tour will last around an hour, giving you time to travel home. If you prefer, we will investigate the availability of local pubs for post-tour refreshments. (Recommendations welcome)

Best wishes
