Salary: £37,012- 45,486

This new role will be responsible for taking forward our new undergraduate Museum Studies programme and lead the strategic development of collections-based teaching and learning across the University.

As part of the University Museums and Collections, based at the Museum of English Rural Life, you will plan, teach and assess a broad range of practice-led museum studies modules, including coordinating input from museum and collections staff and both internal and external academic colleagues.



You will have:

- Proven experience of teaching museum studies in the HE sector or other professional training within the museums and heritage sector

- An outstanding ability to engage students through innovative teaching and to develop Reading's reputation for excellence in object-based learning

- Proven organisational and time management skills, and an ability and willingness to work flexibly

- The ability to lead, inspire and motivate colleagues and to contribute to a working culture that is open and responsive to change



A good honours degree and postgraduate or equivalent qualification in museum studies, heritage, conservation or related discipline is also essential.
