Subject: Exam Concessions

Hi

I have just delivered a training session to our Learning Support Department relating to various roles they may have to do in exams for students with exam concessions. For example Invigilator, Reader, Scribe, Prompter.

They have posed a question that I am unsure of so I have said I will have to get back to them, I hope some of you guys can help.

If they are reading for a student in a Maths exam and the question contained mathematical symbols such as % or  ð are you allowed to say percent and pi?

I have looked in the pink book and cannot find any mention of this.
