Dear Colleagues About a year ago I gave a talk about what I labelled the "six myths" of EBLIP. I am sure that there are more than 6 but I only had 60 minutes to talk! If you can think of any more "myths of EBLIP" I would be very grateful and will happily add them to my list. For the record my six are: 1. "*EBLIP is the Triumph of Scientific Rationality over Individual Initiative and Enthusiasm"*. 2. "*The Librarian Always Knows Best" 3. *"We Don't Need to be a Research-Based Profession*" 4. *"There are Better Alternatives to Evidence Based Practice" 5. *"We Must Adopt Evidence Based Practice Exactly as it is" 6. "A*dvocates of EBLIP are simply jumping on the nearest propitious vehicle (whether bandwagon or gravy train!)" **** I feel a mini-series coming on! and the article was recently published as: Evidence Based Library And Information Practice: Harnessing Professional Passions To The Power Of Research http://www.lianza.org.nz/resources/lianza-publications/nzlimj/evidence-based-library-and-information-practice-harnessing-prof Author: Andrew Booth Series: NZLIMJ, Vol 52, Issue No 4, Aug 2012 Publication date: Mon, 2012-08-27 By Andrew Booth, Reader in Evidence Based Information Practice, School of Health and Related Research (ScHARR), University of Sheffield
