Hello all,
We are delighted to say that this will be the 27th meeting of this valued group. The agenda for the meeting is attached and also available from http://www.jisc.ac.uk/whatwedo/programmes/elearningpedagogy/elearningexperts/oct12.aspx together with the online booking form.
As always we have an exciting and packed agenda. We will be starting the meeting with an update from Lisa Gray on What are we learning about technology-enhanced assessment and feedback practices? Lisa will introduce the Assessment and Feedback programme together with an update on the emerging findings to date. This will be followed by an interactive poster session from 7 projects from the programme.
Gill Ferrell and Marianne Sheppard will then discuss the key findings and outputs from the recently completed Institutional Approaches to Curriculum Design Programme
After lunch we are delighted to have an update from Andrew Comrie, Critical Friend Developing Digital Literacies Programme. 4 Developing Digital Literacies projects will present their emerging outcomes.
This will be followed by the popular Members Showcase to highlight innovative work which members are undertaking. The session will run as 2 parallel roundtable discussions, so delegates can choose one. We are delighted to have the following members speaking about their recent activities:
· Session 1: Get up to SPEED on e-design and delivery practice Dr Armellini, Alejandro The SPEED project (Sharing Practice for Embedding E-design and Delivery), led by the University of Leicester, aims to enable staff and academics at 5 UK universities to enhance student engagement through innovative applications of technologies in the design and delivery of their programmes. SPEED brings together previous research and selected resources and cascades effective, evidence-based practices via a series of online and face-to-face capacity-building activities. Each partner will then trial and evaluate these new approaches locally through a take-up pilot project. This session will provide you with an opportunity to review a selection of ‘repackaged’ resources and tackle sample e-tivities developed for SPEED. These materials have been created to meet various needs previously identified by the partners, including supporting the development of a course map, exploring the possible benefits of a range of web-based learning technologies and designing for participative learning. For this session you will need a laptop or tablet computer with a wireless connection to the internet.
· Session 2: George [log in to unmask] Middlesex University Course Data Tools We will be using the twitter tag of #jiscexperts12 for those members who would like to contribute to the discussions via Twitter.
