Indeed. I possibly use it myself in the right place. However when making an FOI request, and even more so when conducting serious research, it really does not do to use euphemisms which may be misinterpreted and there is a need to think carefully about what is being asked.
Lawrence's example is a case in point. As the question was about bathrooms *OR *changing rooms, for all we know every single one of the 825 cameras reported could be in a wet weather changing area - not a bathroom toilet or games changing cubicle in sight.

It's not that long since I worked on projects in schools (as a community media person) and I never heard the word
bathroom used. Just a bit of an oddity to me really.
