**Invitation to take part in the UK Archives Discovery Network Forum 2013**

The UKAD Forum 2013 will take place at The National Archives on Thursday 7 March 2013. The Forum is organised by UKAD (www.ukad.org<http://www.ukad.org>) to bring together those interested in opening up archives for discovery.

The UKAD Steering Committee would like to invite you to:

ü Share your expertise, skills and knowledge

ü Showcase your projects and activities: the good, the bad and the ugly

ü Challenge your thinking

ü Explore your ideas and aspirations

So that you can:

ü Raise your profile

ü Benefit from feedback

ü Find some answers

ü Make new contacts

ü Build partnerships

UKAD wants to raise awareness of the archives discovery agenda, while bringing in potential partners, developers, funders and others who can contribute to the debate and who could benefit from developing partnerships with the archives sector.

We would like to hear your proposals around the following key themes:

· Working with libraries and museums - learning from experiences of library, museum and cross-cultural discovery activities

· Digital public spaces - including opportunities, risks, access and rights management

· User-generated content - developments and lessons learned

· Understanding the techies! - using mashups to expose and share archive data

· Project updates - if you've presented at previous events, tell us how it's been going

So start thinking and if you would like to contribute, then please send us a short (200 word maximum) summary of your proposed topic. Tell us how you would like to deliver or share it: formal talk, workshop, 'how-to' demonstration, small group, panel discussion, poster session or even a pecha kucha presentation, and let us know whether it would be most beneficial to a beginner or more experienced audience.

If you need any inspiration, take a look at the feedback from last year's Forum: http://www.ukad.org/forum2012/ or read through the presentations: http://www.nationalarchives.gov.uk/archives-sector/documenting-collections.htm

You have until Friday 2 November 2012 to submit your ideas to:
Cathy Williams (UKAD Secretary)
