700-year-old scroll reveals town's birth (From Winsford Guardian)

THE most important document in the history of Winsford has been uncovered
in the National Archives.

The Royal Charter, passed by King Edward I in 1280, granted a weekly market
and annual fair for the Borough of Over, in the area now occupied by
Delamere Street.
