Plymouth University is investing £25m to improve healthcare research in its Schools of Medicine and Dentistry. Expansion of the Centre for Health and Environmental Statistics (CHES) is a key part of this development and we are seeking to appoint at Professorial level to contribute to the leadership and strategic management of the CHES.
You will need to have a strong academic record of high impact publications, external funding and research management. You will also need to have experience of successfully supervising and developing teams of researchers.
Some experience of teaching and consultancy is desirable. A good grounding in statistical theory, methodology and computing is required. Attention to detail, communication skills and the ability to communicate statistical ideas to non-statisticians are essential.
This is a full-time position working 37 hours per week on a permanent basis

Plymouth University is investing £25m to improve healthcare research in its Schools of Medicine and Dentistry. Expansion of the Centre for Health and Environmental Statistics (CHES) is a key part of this development and we are seeking to appointment a Senior Lecturer/Associate Professor.

You will need a PhD in Statistics or be close to submission of your PhD thesis. Some experience of teaching and consultancy is desirable. Plymouth University is investing £25m to improve healthcare research in its Schools of Medicine and Dentistry. Expansion of the Centre for Health and Environmental Statistics (CHES) is a key part of this development and we are seeking to appoint a Training Fellow in Statistics to increase this capacity.
At the Training Fellowship level, you will need to have at least a first or upper second class honours degree in mathematics or statistics. You will be expected to work part time towards a higher degree whilst gaining valuable experience working as a Statistician.
A good grounding in statistical theory, methodology and computing is required. Attention to detail, communication skills and the ability to communicate statistical ideas to non-statisticians are essential.
