One of our Principal's had what sounds like a very similar call last week.

Is it possible they are pulling contact details directly from the the mailbase archive since this is openly available: https://www.jiscmail.ac.uk/cgi-bin/webadmin?A0=acb-clin-chem-gen

Subject: Odd phone call

Dear all,
I received a call yesterday from a lady with a foreign accent from an agency that I did not know.
'You Dr Shapiro? you clinical biochemist? I make you honorarium for reviewing cases on line''

I can only assume someone was fishing for my bank account details. I know I respond to nearly all NEQAS cases for comment but who on earth would want to make me an offer like that?

Can anyone shed any light on this?

Leonie
