Thank you Robert Priddle for your generosity in posting this research. I'm interested in the link between natural magic and photography - and the critical approbation that it provokes. Although I hadn't heard of Francis Barrett, the sixteenth and especially seventeenth century understanding of magic and language is important to my own research. It's a delight to see this.
