Mobilemeet 29th September 2012 at Brighton Racecourse

Practical Solutions to Practical Problems

Tired of celebrating the Jubilee? Sick of the Olympics? The Branch
and Mobile Libraries Group return us to sanity and normality with a
September slot for this year's meeting of the best and brightest library
vehicles from around the UK. As always, the Mobilemeet will feature
presentations and an opportunity for discussion of some of the most
significant issues facing mobile library services, aimed at the widest
possible range of delegates from Members, Senior and Middle Library
Service Managers to Mobile Library Drivers and Assistants.

Our aim this year is for everyone who attends to get the most out of the
training we are offering at this conference through a series of
workshops, enabling participants to bring back concrete ideas and
practical solutions which will be of real value for library services
facing some of the greatest challenges for 50 years.

The workshops will focus around:

*	Managing Vehicles - the regulatory and technical basics of
ensuring that vehicles are fit for purpose and meeting the needs of the
service including partnership working

*	Managing Stock - the specific skills of presenting and editing
stock with limited space, as well as tailoring stock to your customers'
needs
*	Service Development - looking at developing mobile library
services and partnerships that offer real value for money and meet the
needs of the community
*	Customer Service - developing those people skills and attitudes
that really make the service personal and gets them coming back time and
again

We will also be making our usual awards including the Mobile Library
Champion of the Year for the person who has gone that extra mile for
their customers. (Look out for details of this to follow and on our
website soon)

Don't forget if you send a mobile library to the meeting, vehicle and
driver go for free. This is a chance to show off what you do well and
to garner ideas from everyone else.

Attached is a booking form and programme for the day.

Please forward this email to the manager of your mobile library service
and book now.

Hope to see you there!!!
