The Project aims to improve the pan-European framing of the resilience concept through interdisciplinary, socially inclusive and collaborative disasters research. The project will develop a conceptual and methodological approach to clarify how the resilience capacity of a society confronted with natural hazards and disasters can be characterized, defined and measured. emBRACE is a collaborative project involving 10 European partners for which Northumbria University is the joint Coordinator. This is a post which requires both academic and administrative abilities. You will be required to work closely with your administrative/financial counterpart in Brussels, with the emBRACE Consortium members, and with external advisory/consultative group members. You will play a significant role in project managing delivery of the research outputs and ensuring the Consortium meets the objectives of the project. You will take a leading role in primary data gathering and analysis in two case study areas in the North East and North West of England. In addition you must have good interpersonal and presentation skills, as well as the capacity to engage, deliver and disseminate a programme of research and produce high quality outputs.
