The
final programme for the next ISKO UK meeting, The Shape of
Knowledge, is now available on our website at http://www.iskouk.org/events/shape_of_knowledge_Sep2012.htm.
This
afternoon meeting at the London College of Communication gives
us an opportunity to think about the ways in which knowledge and
information can be analysed and presented, for example to bring
out underlying patterns or to emphasize specific aspects of the
information. The meeting will also examine some of the
organizing principles behind the presentation and different
approaches to visualizing data, information and knowledge. One
talk addresses touch technologies too.
The
event should appeal not only to those whose main business is the
organization of knowledge, and who wish to disseminate this
knowledge as effectively as possible, but also to designers,
whose main concern is how design can be used to present
knowledge and information in the most attractive and appealing
way.
If
you have not already booked, please don't forget to do so by 30
August. The meeting is free for ISKO members and full-time
students, and just GBP40 for everyone else.
