Hi folks Something a bit different Here is some excellent place based humour (we all need a laugh now and then) Mark Steel is a UK based left leaning comic of some distinction. His latest book and BBC radio series, Mark Steel’s in Town, is a series of talks about a small town he has researched, recorded live with local audiences, highlighting both historical and geographical local quirks. It very funny and a great perspective on place (fun for students?) Details of the book are at http://www.marksteelinfo.com/ People in UK might find some of the shows on the BBC Radio website Cheers Dr Owain Jones Reader in cultural geography: landscape, place and environment; Countryside <http://www.ccri.ac.uk/> & Community Research Institute / Contact Details <http://www.ccri.ac.uk/TopMenu/ContactDetails.htm> Publications: Academia.edu/OwainJones <http://westengland.academia.edu/OwainJones/Papers> Associate Editor: Journal of Children’s Geographies <http://www.tandf.co.uk/journals/titles/14733285.asp> Committee: Royal Geographical Society Social and Cultural Geography Research Group <http://www.scgrg.org/> Associate: Land <http://www.land2.uwe.ac.uk/> 2 Visiting Fellow: School of Arts and Social Sciences, Northumbria University <http://www.northumbria.ac.uk/sd/academic/sass/> Sonic Severn <http://www.sonicsevern.co.uk/> SevernEstuaryArtAtlas (SEAA) <http://severnestuaryartatlas.wordpress.com/2011/03/03/hello-world/> <http://twitter.com/#!/owainontwit> twitter-1 skype-1 skype <https://login.skype.com/account/signup-form?application=download&return_url=http://www.skype.com/go/buy-credit%3Fflow=join&intcmp=join> - owainonskype Mobile: 07871 572969
