Dear Julia
It may be worth considering a proposal from you to form a discussion group for the APHE interim AGM to be held in Bath early next year, as this would allow an opportunity to informally open the debate.

Regards

Subject: Good practice for ethics

Dear list members,

I’m currently working with colleagues on producing ethical guidelines for undergraduate students in photography at Roehampton University. Before proceeding with producing our own guidelines I wonder if colleagues would be able to share examples of good practice for undergrad students?

We’re particularly interested to know whether other colleges/universities

1) Routinely prohibit specific subjects on the grounds of inexperience/safety/taste/decency

2) Facilitate, through good working practices (such as risk assessment, legal support and ethics advice) more challenging projects as appropriate for working photographic environments (incl. but not limited to news journalism, gallery projects, varieties of publishing etc.)

If anyone is willing to share information and advice I would be very interested and grateful to hear from you.

With many thanks in advance,

Julia
