MRC Clinical Trials Unit and London MRC Hub for Trials Methodology Research

Senior Clinical Trial Methodologist

London

Band 3 (£40k - 48k) or Band 2 (£48k - 75k) per annum

The MRC Clinical Trials Unit is seeking a high-calibre trial methodologist to join an expanding team of researchers developing the Unit's methodological research portfolio.

The MRC Clinical Trials Unit is internationally recognised for its clinical trials, meta-analyses and epidemiological studies. It has a particular focus on cancer and infectious diseases, and has a large portfolio of national and international studies, which contribute to healthcare improvement across the world.

It also has a major and expanding interest in methodology and is one of the eight regional MRC Hubs for Trials Methodology Research, established by the MRC to develop new and improved methods for the design, conduct and analysis of clinical trials. The Unit has a strong track-record in statistical methodology and a small, but growing, programme of research in other aspects of trial design and conduct. Through this post we are seeking to strengthen our methodological research in these areas, and to provide input into national and international initiatives to improve trial methodology and associated guidance.

The post-holder will be a creative and experienced trialist or methodologist able to direct and sustain internationally competitive methodological research that will improve the quality and efficiency of clinical trials.

The post is principally aimed at individuals with considerable experience in clinical trials and clinical trials methodology, but less experienced candidates will also be considered for a more junior post. The post is full-time, but applicants wishing to work part-time will also be considered.

To discuss the position further please contact Max Parmar, Director of the MRC Clinical Trials Unit and Director of CTU Hub for Trials Methodology Research ([log in to unmask]<mailto:[log in to unmask]>).

Salary is dependent on previous experience and includes Location Allowance and Central London Supplement. Benefits include 30 days annual leave days per year, a contributory pension scheme and an interest free season ticket loan.
