We had a query from
our Endocrinologist regarding a high SHBG concentration on a 22 year
old lady presenting with secondary
amenorrhea of no obvious cause. Definitely not on contraceptive pills or other exogenous oestrogens. Otherwise fit &
well.......

Interference by heterophilic antibodies has been
excluded by using blocking tubes and also sending the sample to an external
lab using a different platform, result remained
high.
