Mantoux
I dare say this request has been driven by a desire to reduce cost........

Considering how complex TB management can be,

I find that it is more than a bit questionable,

Is this just a case of Manatoux administration,

Or are they expected to do a full TB assessment ?

I havent heard about HCA's being able to carry out unlicensed vaccine work but I do know they are being trained to give injections.

As being able to give a mantoux is barely scraping the surface of the when's and if's of doing a mantoux, let alone reading the thing, I cannot begin to imagine it but maybe I am not trying hard enough…

Hi all,

I have had a recent enquiry for us to train a public health employee in the Mantoux test for TB screening. The employee in question is a HCA and does not hold a nursing qualification. Are you aware of any guidance tackling this?

Thanks

Matt
