Dear All,

With the deadline for abstracts rapidly approaching, we would like to remind you about the following session, and inform you of newly confirmed invited presentations at the AGU Fall Meeting to be held in San Francisco, 3rd - 7th December 2012:

*****MR013: Reaction Mechanisms in Deforming Rocks*****
Understanding the interaction of deformation and chemical reactions in rocks is essential to studies of a wide
range of processes including diagenesis, faulting, mineralisation, and metamorphism in many geodynamic
settings. Time and length scales of different types of reaction vary by orders of magnitude allowing
deformation-reaction coupling on seismic to orogenic timescales. This session aims to combine studies of
natural and experimental samples with modelling of deformation and reaction processes from atomic to
lithospheric scales in order to further understanding of feedbacks between deformation and reactions, and
how different reaction mechanisms are coupled in space and time.

Confirmed Invited Presentations:

Alexandre Schubnel - École Normale Supérieure, Paris

Ralf Milke - Freie Universität, Berlin

The deadline for abstracts is 8th August 2012 at 23:59ET online at http://agu-fm12.abstractcentral.com/

We look forward to seeing you in San Francisco
